| Series 1: Institutes (boxes 1 - 54)
Summer Institute (boxes 1 - 46)
The Summer Institute is co-hosted annually (since 1976) by HERS
and Bryn Mawr College.
Processing note: Order was imposed by placing the information
into three categories: Administrative, Curriculum and Evaluations.
Though these categories are not in brackets, their titles are not
original. "Curriculum: NOTEBOOK" indicates the notebook
given to each participant of the Summer Institute; the original
notebooks were divided by tabs, and these tab titles are used to
label the folders. Marketing Binders follow Evaluations; original
notebook tab titles are used to label the folders. The Marketing
Binders are often followed by Summer Institute Account Binders,
with tabs determining the folder titles. SI is the acronym for Summer
Institute.

2: Conferences (boxes 55 - 70)
- Boxes 55-57 contain conference announcements, arranged alphabetically
by topic.
- Boxes 58-65 contain conferences, arranged by date. Titles and
locations are noted when possible.
- Boxes 66-70 contain items relating to The Next Move, a grant
acquired by HERS from the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary
Education. It includes grant applications and materials relating
to the conferences.

Research (boxes 71 - 86)
- The research series comprises information collected by HERS
and is arranged by subject matter. It contains journal and magazine
artricles, newspaper articles, academic papers, and other materials.

| Series 4: Colleges/Universities (boxes
87 - 97)
- This series houses general information (course catalogs, information
packets, etc.) about various colleges and universities and is
arranged alphabetically by institution.

| Series 5: Cynthia Secor, Pre-HERS (boxes
98-103)
- This series contains information relating to Cynthia Secor (the
Executive Director of HERS from 1975 - Present) before she began
her tenure with HERS. It dates from 1967 - 1974 and contains information
relating to...

| Series 6: Foundations/Organizations (boxes
104 - 141)
- This series contains information about foundations and organizations
that HERS worked with and/or collected information from, the materials
are organized alphabetically by the foundation or organization
name and chrnologically within them.

| Series 7: HERS Office (boxes 142 - 242)
- The HERS Office series contains material relating to the function
of the HERS office including: correspondence, information relating
to their registry and mailing lists, their Advisory Board, papers
specific to HERS West, University of Pennsylvania, University
of Denver, and Bryn Mawr College

- The publications series includes runs of journals (a year or
more), copies of indvidual issues of journals, and publication
announcements.
