Lucile Hatch received her B. S. in Library Science from the University of Denver in 1942 and then was a teacher and librarian in public schools and a visiting professor at the University of Oregon and the University of Washington. Lucile Hatch was appointed as Associate Professor in the University of Denver's Graduate School of Librarianship in 1956, named full Professor in 1964, and was Acting Dean of the Graduate School from 1966-1968. She was promoted to Professor Emeritus in September of 1978 following her retirement.

Scope and Content

The Lucile Hatch Collection contains notebooks with articles, bibliographies and notes in the areas of school libraries, media centers and children's literature; children's literature: illustrations, cut-out characters, felt story boards, stencil alphabets and numerous objects. The objects include toy animals, finger puppets, dinosaurs, hand puppets, dolls, and a mythology game. The Collection contains a wealth of materials from the 1960's and 1970's that is useful in the field of children's librarianship.
