  Seventeenth & Eighteenth Century Burney Collection Newspapers

The newspapers, pamphlets, and books gathered by the Reverend Charles Burney (1757-1817) represent the largest and most comprehensive collection of early English news media. This digital collection, that helps chart the development of the concept of 'news' and 'newspapers' and the "free press", totals almost 1 million pages and contains approximately 1,270 titles.

SPIE -- The International Society for Optical Engineering, provides a database that abstracts articles published in their conference proceedings. We have some of these proceedings in our stacks. It is recommended to search their database for papers, not volume titles. If we don't have the volume, check Prospector to see if anyone has it.

A dynamic encyclopedia devoted philosophy. The project is in progress, with entries being added by known scholars in the field. The "dynamic" database means the entries are capable of being updated by the contributors, to reflect new information or changes in scholarly discussions. Although free at the present time, the project depends upon donations. The University of Denver Penrose Library has donated to help fund the project.
